Frequently asked questions
Telehealth, visits, and everyday care questions.
Why choose virtual mental health care?+
Rise makes receiving care convenient and efficient without sacrificing exceptional care. Patients receive a comprehensive, team-based approach without the drive, wait time, and missed work hours. Prioritizing mental health can be easier with statewide telehealth access.
What is Tebra Telemedicine?+
Rise uses Tebra (formerly Kareo) for scheduling, video visits, and billing. It is HIPAA-compliant for computers, tablets, and smartphones. After scheduling, patients receive a video-session link by email, plus email and text reminders. On the appointment day, click the link on an internet-connected device with camera and microphone, allow access, and select Knock to enter the video room. Rise recommends Google Chrome; Tebra cannot guarantee connection quality on cellular-only networks.
What do patients need for a visit?+
A computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone with working camera and microphone; a strong internet/WiFi connection; completed new-patient intake forms at least 48 hours before the first appointment; and readiness to open the Tebra appointment URL about 10 minutes before the visit.
Are appointments recorded or stored?+
No. Sessions are not recorded, and the software does not provide the ability to do so.
Are video visits secure?+
Yes. Tebra’s video technology uses bank-grade encryption and is HIPAA-compliant. Rise recommends choosing a quiet, private place at home or work for every appointment.
I am logged on. Where is my provider?+
As with an in-office visit, a provider can occasionally run behind. Stay in the virtual waiting room and wait for a message or for the provider to accept your Knock. Rise recommends checking in 10–15 minutes before the start time.
Can medication be prescribed online?+
Yes. Michigan-licensed physician assistants can prescribe medications, including controlled medications, and send them electronically to a pharmacy. Current clients seeking a refill should give their provider 3–5 days’ notice; requests may take up to 72 business hours during Monday–Friday business days. Weekend refill requests are acknowledged on the next business day.
How do I authorize another person to be involved in my care?+
Complete the Rise Release Form for the preferred contact. The completed, electronically signed form is securely transferred to the Adobe Sign portal, and patients receive a copy by email.
How do I request documentation?+
Documentation requests are handled case by case by each provider and may be discussed during an appointment or in a specifically scheduled documentation visit. A Release Form must be on file before documentation can be released.
How do I reach someone with a question about my care?+
Call (248) 850-1000 during published office hours. If the team is assisting another patient, leave a detailed message for a return call. For a life-threatening emergency or acute crisis, call 911 or go to the emergency room.
What do I do if I have a psychiatric emergency?+
Call 911 or go directly to the emergency room. If you are a current client who is hospitalized, please notify Rise and complete a Release Form for the hospital or partial hospitalization program so the care team can coordinate with us.
